Web Ticket Entry Training

The Miss Utility of Virginia Web Ticket Entry application allows excavators and contractors who enter an average of five tickets per week to process Normal, Remark, and Update tickets online without having to call 811. The free training class teaches how to enter an accurate locate request and perform a detailed ticket search, while also highlighting notification requirements of Virginia’s Damage Prevention Act. Participants will learn how to log into the application, describe the specific location of proposed excavation or demolition, and map the dig site polygon in order to notify utility operators. Locating the dig site utilizing the various mapping tools will be demonstrated through multiple examples.

 

Orientation visit to the Virginia SCC Division of Utility and Railroad Safety

HRUHCA will be having an orientation visit to the Virginia State Corporation Commission's Division of Utility and Railroad Safety on Friday, June 7th, 11:30am.

Directly after the presentation honoring Governor Bob McDonnell at the Governor's office (10:30 AM), HRUHCA will be walking down the street to the offices of the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) to meet with Mr. Massoud Tahamtani, Director of the SCC Division of Utility and Railroad Safety and members of his staff. HRUHCA will be presenting Mr. Tahamtani with an award recognizing his 33 years of service with the State Corporation Commission and we will be having a catered lunch at the SCC office during the visit.

 

Presentation of the 2013 HRUHCA Legislative Leadership Award

HRUHCA Travels to the Governor's Office in Richmond, Virginia to present the 2013 Legislative Leadership Award to the 71st Governor of the Commonwealth, The Honorable Robert F. McDonnell.

This event is free to all HRUHCA members and guests.

Please register your attendance by close of business on Tuesday, May 28th as we need to give an accurate account of people attending by that date for security purposes.

 

June 11th Membership Dinner Meeting

Come network with industry friends as the association honors member firms who have gone the extra distance to distinguish themselves for safe job practices in 2012. The HRUHCA Memorial Scholarship Trust will also be presenting their annual college scholarships to deserving sons and daughters of HRUHCA members who are seeking a college degree.

As one of our themes for the evening is safety, we have asked Mr. Courtney Malveaux, Commissioner of VOSH to be our special guest speaker. Mr. Malveaux will make a presentation on important industry safety topics and talk about trends in accidents and accident prevention.
